The Association of Student International Communication (ASIC) was founded in March 2003, aimed at creating opportunities for cross-culture exchange and promoting understanding between different cultures, as well as to build a global vision for Tsinghua students, practice their communicative skills and social etiquette, and promote teamwork and leadership. ASIC is registered student association of Tsinghua, and partners with organizations across the globe to meet its mission. In accordance to the global strategy of Tsinghua, ASIC organizes activities designed to promote global competency among students. ASIC hosts a number of cross-cultural communication forums between excellent universities worldwide. These forums include the IMUSE forum (Tsinghua, Peking, Harvard, MIT), the Higher Education Young Talent Alliance (Tsinghua, Peking, Oxford, Cambridge etc.), and the Silk Road Forum (Tsinghua, ParisTech). In addition, ASIC assists Tsinghua in receiving guests from across the world. Previous receptions have included Prince Andrew, President of the University of Zurich, President of Volvo Group, etc. ASIC also assists Tsinghua in hosting the “Vision in Tsinghua, Dialogue with Ambassadors” program, a series of lectures in which foreign ambassadors to China discuss international relations between their countries and China.

History with STeLA

ASIC has a long history of working with STeLA. ASIC first came into contact with STeLA during the 2015 Beijing Forum, it assisted STeLA in recruitment, promotions, event planning, inviting guest speakers, accommodations and provided funding. In subsequent STeLA forums, ASIC has continued to provide its support through promoting and funding the events. This year, ASIC will continue work with STeLA to ensure a successful forum in Beijing.
